This painting was inspired by a scene that appeared before us while we were out to dinner. I often find myself attracted to a sunset scene facing west down the street. One-point perspective invites the viewer in while the light comes from the back and makes interesting shapes without compromising detail in the shadows. this also follows a couple of other successful paintings I’ve done in this area.
